An explorable history of public progress

See how people, ideas, and movements shape one another.

Conscious Progress is not one straight line. This map connects four proposed pillars—human well-being, shared prosperity, democratic agency, and living systems—to selected historical contributions across time.

How to read this: connections show thematic relationships, not proof of direct influence. Inclusion does not imply affiliation with, endorsement of, or participation in V-Impact.

The four proposed pillars

Progress becomes meaningful when outcomes connect.

No pillar stands alone. Health depends on economic security. Democratic power affects how resources are shared. Human prosperity depends on functioning living systems. Select a pillar to trace those relationships.

What this map is—and is not

A starting framework, open to correction.

The map is a selective editorial interpretation, not a comprehensive history or a claim that progress has been continuous. Dates identify a representative publication, action, law, or period—not the beginning or end of a struggle.

Future editions should be reviewed by historians, movement participants, policy specialists, and communities whose work is represented. They should add primary sources, contested interpretations, global perspectives, and a public correction process.
